The Mr & The Mrs

Last weekend my very best friend in Erie got married!!!

The beautiful Shaina finally became Mrs. Swackhamer. I have never seen a happier, more excited bride in all my life.

It was so much fun being one of your bridesmaids Shaina!! (Except for having to order a size 18 dress because who knew what a 32 yr old, 8 weeks after baby #3 body would be like! And I'm proud to say that I did need to get it altered.)

Colby & I wish you & Eric the absolute best. We love you guys!

I can't eat breakfast with my kids.

Why you ask?

Because I have to hide my cereal bowl from them.

Thanks to my Dad I just cannot eat certain cereals without a little topping on them.

Pictured above is Raisin Bran with cool whip on it. Yep. And vanilla ice cream works great too. You should try it. Really.

I just hope I can one day pass on the same great nutritional traditions to my boys.

But for now my breakfasts remain top secret. Shhh!

This morning we had a couple visitors on our roof.

Two month checkup

Here's the numbers...

Weight - 14lbs 15.2oz
Height - 24 inches

He's still big.

Two months old

Parker turned 2 months old on Saturday. I feel like we're finally out of that fog you live in for the first couple months....

The big news is that Mr. Park is now sleeping through the night. Well at least he has for the last 6 nights in a row. He's on a roll - hopefully he'll continue!! He is still eating every 3 hours during the day. I wake him up at 7 and we start our eat, play, sleep schedule that takes us all the way through 7pm. Then it's time for a bath and he's in bed by 8:20-8:30. At 10pm I slip him out of bed for his dreamfeed. Then back in his crib until morning. I think he's at the point where he's kinda getting the whole crib/swaddle=bed thing. As soon as I swaddle him up he's pretty much yawning and closing his eyes.

He's also smiling a bunch! And the baby acne is gone which makes me smiley! He's definitely cutening up ~ if that's a word. His 2 month appointment is tomorrow so we'll see how big he's gotten. Let's just say that at this exact moment the clothes he has on are 9 months. Chunk.

Don't let me fool you though, he's far from perfect. The kid spits up like nobody's business. And poop? Let's just say all his white onesies are now a nice yellow/orange shade. He's also a pretty restless sleeper. He wakes up and cries during his naps quite regularly. But then he goes back to sleep - who knows? Maybe it's something he will outgrow!

I've been having to wake him up at 7 am which is when we start our day.

It's a miracle

I have suffered with canker sores my whole life. They especially plague me when I am stressed or during a certain time of the month. (which makes me extra fun to be with!!)

And when I say that I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the stupid things, I mean that I have tried EVERYTHING. I spent much of my high school years holding a pickle to my lips because someone told me that might work - I think they got the last laugh.

Anyway, my dental hygenist here in Erie suggested something new to try. And guess what??

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's kinda pricy for such a small bottle but I'd be willing to pay just about anything for it.

It's the miracle that I have been searching for for the last 20 years!!! And the bonus is that now I don't smell like pickles!

Of course

Last night after dinner we were taking a walk in our neighborhood. All five of us. (That still sounds weird... all FIVE of us.)

If you know my kids at all you would probably agree that Wade looks more like me and Jake is a mini-Colby. Time will tell with Parker but I'm thinking he's going to look like Colby too.

The thing is the boys also act like the parent that they favor.

So back to our walk.

I had just given the boys suckers from their Easter baskets. (One piece of candy a day - I'm mean.) We're walking along and Wade is licking his sucker like a NORMAL person would. (me!) Then there's Jake. He's chomping on that thing and it's gone in mere minutes.

I turn to Colby and say, "Did you see that? He even eats a sucker like you. How can he be so much like you?!"

Colby's answer, "Because he's cool."

Of course.

I. AM. SO. JEALOUS.

Easter Pics

I hope you all had a great Easter! Holidays like Christmas & Easter can be kinda rough on a pastor's family... it's such a big church day so we don't get to spend much time together as a family. But I've learned that we don't need to necessarily celebrate on the actual day - Easter might need to happen on a Monday in our house!

Nathan proposed to his girlfriend tonight in Flordia. I am so excited to add the beautiful, sweet Bethany to our family!!!
