Happy 4th Birthday

My little man turned 4 a couple weeks ago. His birthday was on a Saturday and as soon as his Daddy got home from church we opened his presents. He only got a few because his main gift was to go to Splash Lagoon the next Monday - an indoor waterpark here in Erie. Then after we watched the Kentucky Derby we dug into his Perry the Platypus cake. We made Perry cupcakes for his preschool birthday celebration and they turned out better than the cake. The cake, well, just check out the pictures. It kinda just looks like 2 eyeballs.

Happy Birthday sweet Jake. We love you so very much!!!

Kentucky Derby

I hope that in 20 years when my children are in therapy for their gambling addictions they won't be able to look back and see this post!!!

So here's how it went down. Everyone picked their horse and put one dollar in the pot. The rule, winner takes all, was explained and the losers knew that if they cried they had to go straight to bed. (How horrible are we?!?!) Everyone was given the choice to not play and keep their dollar. But I'm raising a bunch of betting men...

Easter 2011

Remember when you were a kid and your parents told you not to lie - because one lie leads to another??

So first of all we tell our boys that some strange bunny delivers candy and hides eggs on Easter.

Then we have to make an amendment to that by telling them that the Easter bunny comes to the houses of pastor's kids on Saturday morning to spread out the workload or some such nonsense. (Since Colby is not home on Sunday mornings!)

The Next Mrs. Ensey

This past weekend Wade, Jake, Park & I headed to Toledo for my soon-to-be-sister-in-law's wedding shower. Check out the ladies below... the current Mrs. Ensey with the future Mrs. Ensey. Aren't they both beautiful?!

The concept of the shower was an around the clock shower. Everyone was assigned a time on their invitation and your gift was to correspond with that time of day. It was a great idea and awesome way to not end up with 3 toasters!

Bethany's grandmother had 10pm... Bethany got a box load of wonderful *nighttime* presents complete with the Yanni CD pictured below!! LOVE IT :)
